I drive a Volvo XC60 and I have the hardest time finding a shop that is even willing to do any work on my car beyond a basic oil change, until I found Payne's! Payne's Automotive has technicians more than qualified to work on both Domestic and European cars. They've always done an excellent job on my vehicle, and always deliver top notch customer service. I highly recommend these guys!

I will try to keep this brief; however, the story needs to be told to express my sincere thanks to Payne's Automotive, Jason, and Dennis.I have a 2013 Ford Fiesta. My tags were to expire on 12/31/16. Mid-December, my check engine light came on. I went to Sterling McCall Ford to investigate the light, get a LOF, tire rotation, and complete the state inspection. The dealership never delivered. They lied and wasted my time -- over weeks. My time at the holidays that I could have spent with my family was wasted on Sterling McCall Ford's ineptitude. Then goes 1/3/17. I have a fairly new vehicle that is not legal to drive. I was truly panicked. I looked at dps.texas.gov/rsd/VI/Mis… and through the grace of God found Payne's Automotive. I dropped my vehicle off yesterday, 1/4/17 at 15:00 CST. I picked it up with a passed state inspection today, 1/5/17 at 15:00 CST.What took a Ford dealer two weeks to obfuscate, took Payne's Automotive 24 hours to diagnose and repair.I have never been happier to pay a car repair invoice than I have been today. Thanks, Jason and Dennis!Ed Hill

I have taken all 3 of my vehicle's here. They call let you know what's wrong and how much it will be. Can't ask more then that. Just like knowing there not going to BS me or nickel n dime me. The only thing I thought was a little high was the price to replace my engine. Did it myself. But these guys are great group and do all they can to make you want to come back. Keep up the good work guy's and stay blessed.

Alejandro, thank you for your kind and honest words. We can't and won't always be the cheapest but we strive to be the best and provide true value.

I've been here three times for small things and had a pleasant experience each time. I'll probably be a customer for live.

The staff and service at Payne's is truly tremendous. They are honest, fair, and upfront with all of their timelines and pricing. They also offer a free shuttle if you need a ride to work after you drop your vehicle which is a really nice bonus. I will keep returning to Payne's for all my of my automotive needs.

Hunter, we appreciate your comments. We work very hard to meet and exceed customers' expectations. Thanks for being a valuable customer.

Jason and Dennis run an excellent auto shop. I have never been disappointed with the service or quality of work. They even have a shuttle service, so I just drop my car off in the morning, get a ride to work from their courtesy shuttle, and pick it up on my way home from work (I usually can bum a ride back, but they always offer the shuttle if I need it). This is one place I trust and don't worry about having mysterious repairs come up to add a couple hundred to the bill. Very honest and up front!

Update: Owner called regarding the issue and made the greatest attempt to rectify the situation this morning! 1. He arranged for tech to check the oil cap 2. Provided detailed information about the condition of my car. 3. Offered complimentary service for the inconvenience.

Finally a competent AND honest car repair shop! A week prior to taking my car to Payne's, I had a checkup performed at the local Kwik-Kar while getting an oil change and was told that I had only 10% left on my brake pads and thus desperately needed to replace them asap. That sounded odd to me since I remembered replacing them 12-18 months ago, so I took my car to Payne's for a second opinion (Payne's came highly recommended from several longtime Houstonians).Payne's called BS on Kwik-Kar and confirmed that around 75% of the padding remained, and that they looked brand new!Finding a car shop that is competent and trustworthy is tough, but Payne's seems to be both. My wife and I always take our cars to Payne's first.

Thanks Ricky! We are more interested in being trustworthy and building long-term relationships than trying to maximize the bill on every customer. We will never recommend work that is NOT needed.

Honest & knowledgeable car service with free shuttle & nice staff. I've been to a lot of mechanics and it's hard to find one you can trust - these guys will keep my business.

Ken, we appreciate your comments! This is how we have grown and maintained our business.

I had a terrible experience! I've been looking for a good, reliable mechanic since I moved to the area from out-of-state. I took my car there for an inspection and was told I needed $1,500 in repairs, then they would run the diagnostic again to tell me if it was all fixed. I don't have that kind of money sitting around, so I told him I was at work and needed to talk with my husband and figure it out. We decided that we would get some work done, but couldn't afford it all. I called them back but they told me that they had already moved on for the day to cars that were getting "real work done". It was about noon at the time and they weren't going to get back to my car before they closed if I wasn't going to just blindly follow their expensive requirements. I told them I would just take my car elsewhere for repairs and they charged me a $99 diagnostic fee because I wasn't completing any work there. I ran my own diagnostics before I went in and told them exactly what I wanted repaired, but it didn't matter. I feel like they trap you by running an expensive test as soon as your car pulls into the garage and if you don't choose to get repairs done through them (because they're crazy expensive), they basically charge you for nothing. I wasn't going to post anything but I keep getting emails from them asking me to leave feedback. Here you go! If you are wondering how satisfied I am, I was desperate enough after leaving this place that I took my car to the idiots at Firestone and it was actually way better service without any of the crap.

We are sorry that we could not meet your expectations and appreciate the feedback. We always fully disclose on the front end that there will be a $99 diagnostic fee - it has been our standard practice for years. We hope you are able to find the help you need elsewhere.
